A moat around the White House
You may recall the intruder who managed to make it deep inside the White House before finally being stopped. Since then, many congressional hearings have been held to determine what can be done to prevent a similar event from happening in the future. Many ideas have been advanced, but one of the daffiest to date comes from Tennesse Democrat Steve Cohen. Cohen thinks it might be a good idea to build a moat around the White House. And interim Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy thinks it might be worth considering.
They aren't joking.
So if we see excavators on the White House grounds soon, we'll know why. And then we can wonder, will there be boiling oil and trebuchets, too?
