We've all read the stories about how governments intrude, snoop, spy and pry on private citizens (all in the name of keeping us safe). But governments aren't the only people out there gathering your information. One of the biggest, and most powerful, is google">Google.

We're all familiar with the NSA's widespread surveillance of email, phone and other information sources. Now we can add to the list the U.S. Marshal Service, which is using Cessna aircraft fitted with so-called "dirtboxes" that mimic cell phone towers. The stated goal of the program? To track down bad guys, naturally.

EPA thinks you shower too much

The busy bodies at the Environmental Protection Agency want to be your shower buddy. Why? Because Agency bureaucrats think Americans spend too much time in hotel showers and thus, are wasting water:

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wants hotels to monitor how much time its guests spend in the shower.
