Obamacare Heading Back to Supreme Court

The rolling wreck that is the President's signature legislative achievement will go before the U.S. Supreme Court for the second time:

"At issue this time are the subsidies that the federal government provides for individuals purchasing insurance through obamacare">Obamacare. Though the text of the law says the subsidies were to go to individuals obtaining insurance through an 'exchange established by the state,' a rule released by the Internal Revenue Service subsequently instructed that subsidies would also apply to exchanges set up on behalf of states by the federal government."

In other words, this case addresses critical issues about the law: who pays the insurance bills and whether the Administration can interpret the law however it wants to achieve its political ends. This challenge to Obamacare is very strong. If successful, it could cripple Obamacare. But as with the first Supreme Court challenge, the outcome may depend on whether Chief Justice John Roberts wants to be popular with the Left, or defend the rule of law.
