Trump survives despite what he says

And now, for something a little different...a compilation of 31 gaffes that would have destroyed any other presidential candidate, but not GOP frontrunner Donald Trump. For example:

1) March 30: Says “there has to be some form of punishment” for women who have abortions

2) March 29: Says two of three most important functions of federal government are providing health care and education

3) March 29: Campaign manager charged with battery against a reporter

4) March 22: Threatens to “spill the beans” on Ted Cruz’s wife

5) March 16: Says he consults himself on foreign policy. “I have a good brain.”

We can still recall when even the smallest mistake -- real or perceived -- could send a presidential candidate packing.

Michael Dukakis in a tank -- classic.

Walter Mondale's promise to raise taxes -- yeah, that worked well.

President Ford saying there was no Soviet domination in Eastern Europe -- someone forgot to tell the Eastern Europeans.

Senator Ed Muskie's tears (or is that melted snow?) -- didn't matter, he was done.

You get the idea.

Donald Trump may or may not be the Republican nominee (voters will decide that). But one thing is sure about his campaign so far: he's been able to survive, and thrive, despite saying things that once would have sent him home for good.
